Media training

Media training

Doing media interviews can feel terrifying but it needn’t be that way. To help you understand what makes a journalist tick and how you can feel more confident in an interview situation our media training courses give you the chance to meet industry insiders.

Happy woman speaks to media

When booking a course you speak to the journalist trainer who will be doing the delivery – not a sales person. This means you can be confident of knowing the training is designed for you and your organisation and not a template.

You will go through practical training backed up by first class, up to date communications knowledge from those who work in the media as journalists, camera crews and producers.

If you have an upcoming issue then we can advise and support with training targeted to the situation. We work with CEOs and senior leaders in the public and private sector in the UK and overseas.

If your team is new to the media then we’ll help them understand what journalists want and increase their confidence and knowledge for interviews.

We provide constructive feedback on the day and written feedback post-course together with copies of your interviews.

Wherever you are in the UK or overseas, you can choose from studios near to your offices or we will bring our team to you. We provide remote training and if you find yourself approached for a last minute interview we can help you prepare with a realistic run through.

Crisis Communications

Crisis Communications

Dealing with the media is the last thing you want to do when your organisation is facing a crisis. Unfortunately, journalists won’t wait until it is over before coming at you. Our Crisis Communications workshops will give you what you need to know. They’re designed to put you through your paces with training by industry insiders who know exactly how the media works in a crisis.

The workshops are fast moving and interactive. Run by real journalists, not trainers, they show you what happens once the media get wind of a crisis. We test you and your message. Does it work when facing a hostile press? What can you say and what should you do when people are posting bad news about you on social media?

Working with your PR team or Crisis Leader we come up with scenarios to test you in the real world. You will be given the tools you need should the worst happen. You’ll also understand why the media behave the way they do and what you can do about it. It is also a great team building exercise.

When booking your workshop you will be speaking to the person delivering the course so you can be sure you will get what you and your organisation need including the best support from experienced journalists and media insiders.

Should you need additional support post-course then we will provide an experienced communications professional to work with your team for as long as you need.

We run courses across the UK and overseas for the public and private sector including pharmaceutical, animal health, manufacturing, logistics, NHS senior leaders, government bodies and charities.

Presentations

Business People Listening to the Speaker at a Conference

Presentations

Our presentation courses are run by trainers who are used to being on stage and writing speeches for clients. They know what it is like and share that knowledge with you in our workshops. These range from refreshers to confidence building for personal development including 1-2-1 courses.

We treat each delegate as an individual and provide training which is geared around your hopes and fears about presenting, whether that is on stage at a conference, via remote channels such as Teams and Zoom or even to a group of colleagues face to face.

There is no one size fits all and our group courses are designed to allow individuals to express their feelings in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.

You’ll learn about tools which can support your presentation and should you choose to use PowerPoint then we’ll share the tips and techniques we have used to enhance our talks.

Our workshops are interactive – the presentations are filmed throughout the session for constructive feedback and delivered to you post-course. We’ll help you understand how to get your message across and what makes a great presentation – not just a good one.

If you need support to write your speech or presentation then talk to our speechwriters who have written for individuals across a range of sectors.

We liaise with you before the course to understand your aims and provide post-course written feedback with tips including copies of the presentations for review.
